At the foot of the east face of Monte Rosa lies a charming village, Macugnaga, a gem of Walser culture, customs and architecture, one of the richest and most characteristic Alpine communities in history.
In the ancient dwellings of the place, the 'Stube' was the only room in the house heated by the stove and was therefore the space designated to host moments of conviviality and most of the family's activities.
The intention of La Stube Bistró is to recreate the same cosy, hospitable and comfortable atmosphere that was breathed in that magical space inside every Walser-style dwelling.
